lyrics

The Beast

All my dreams and hopes are lost
Foreign troops trample the soil
Fruits of labor are spoiled
Best laid plans now all foiled

I pray the rain
to wash away
all the filth and all the pain
The fear is coming back
In the haze
of unwelcome dawn
The beast is black,
Blood-stained

The structures of old now all gone
The roads to salvation are lost one by one
Falling towers all around
Cannot stand the tests of time

On an ivory throne
To teach right from wrong
Sits a shape of a man,
Disguised
A sceptre of bone
In the hands of the crone
Whispering madness
To the ears
Of the beast on the throne

In guise of righteousness
Speaking words of friendliness
Wielding sword and scale of justice
Beast on the throne
Reaching for skies in a chariot
Building a twisted vicariate
There are snakes pouring out from the chalice
Beast on the throne

Rest from fight never lasts forever
The feast is over and meat is spoiled
Barren land reminds you of the price
It's a wrong that never can be made right

The spoils of war now squandered
Still unanswered crimes
Scream for justice
In courts of the bygone times
The time to rebuild is now
